The goal of each level is to gradually cut off the constantly moving "Qix" from the playing field and completely encircle it. To do this, the player must skilfully outmanoeuvre it, because a touch is fatal. Although you are safe from Qix at the edge of the field, this is where the "Sparx" make their rounds and harass the player.
